Attention all Sheetify Bookkeeping users! Are you tired of sifting through endless rows of income and expenses just to find one crucial transaction?
If you’re using Sheetify Bookkeeping, the good news is that you can instantly find the financial information you’re after thanks to the built-in Google Sheets custom filter view.
By using these custom filters, you can quickly filter your income and expense sheets to show specific data, like your latest expenses or payments, specific categories, and more.
To filter your income and expenses using the custom filter view, all you need to do is:
These game-changing views help you instantly find the exact transaction data you need, without endless scrolling or manual searching!
It’s fast, effortless, and lets you spend more time growing your business instead of wrestling with spreadsheets.
So, how can you filter your income and expense transactions in your Google Sheets Bookkeeping template?
Go to your ‘Income’ or ‘Expenses’ sheet (depending on what data you want to filter) inside Sheetify Bookkeeping.
Highlight the row that contains your column titles (e.g., Date, Category, Amount).
This will open a fresh workspace that displays a little triangle (filter icon) next to each header.
Now that you’ve created a new custom filter view, you can use it to grab specific details like dates and categories fast.
To do that:
For example, to show all your most recent transactions first:
This will automatically bring your latest entries straight to the top!
If you only want to view one category (for example, all your subscriptions only):
Tick the category you want to view (e.g., subscriptions).
And there you go! The spreadsheet will only show your subscription expenses!
Note: You can add multiple custom filters to your spreadsheet (one at a time) to filter specific data.
Once you’ve filtered your data, you can save the filter view for later, which is perfect for views you need to check often (like recurring costs or last month’s spend).
To save your filtered data view:
Click ‘Save’.
Now that you’ve filtered your transaction data and saved it as a custom view, did you know you can also instantly switch between all your saved views?
That’s right, you don’t need to recreate filters every time you open your sheet!
To do that:
This then transports you back to the custom view you created with real-time data updates!
Note: The custom filter steps above can be applied to your ‘Expenses’, ‘Income’, and ‘Tasks’ sheets in Sheetify Bookkeeping.
So, if you’re ready to stop drowning in data and start finding the financial insights you need instantly, what are you waiting for?
