Is there a free Google CRM?
The answer is... No. Google doesn’t currently have a free standalone CRM app or system.
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t organize and manage your CRM activities for free through Google Sheets
There are plenty of free Google Sheets templates and tools available that can completely reshape your Google Sheets spreadsheet into a dynamic, fully functional CRM solution.
It’s also worth noting that free CRM platforms like HubSpot and Streak are super compatible with Google Sheets.
How to create a free CRM in Google Sheets?
Creating your own CRM template
This free Google CRM method involves configuring the rows and columns of your Google Sheet yourself to reflect your business data and customer information.
How does it work?
- Create a new spreadsheet.
- Set up columns with headers (e.g., contact name, email address, lead status, priority, and so on). Think about what data you want to capture.
- Populate the rows with corresponding customer data (lead or contact details, sales inventory information, transaction details, or other details you want to manage).
- You can then add your own conditional formatting to color-code cells and data validation rules such as tick boxes, drop-down menus, and more.
This manual approach to using Google Sheets as a CRM is cost-effective but can be labor-intensive and somewhat restrictive.
If you want to add automation or unique customization features to your Google Sheets CRM, you’ll have to add an Apps Script or integrate a third-party app like Zapier.

While Google Sheets isn't technically a CRM platform, a CRM template makes it adaptable enough to serve as a base for a basic CRM system.

The good thing about these templates is that they’re typically ready to use with pre-populated headers and formatting options.

However, these CRM templates are typically quite limited in terms of functionality.
