Free Domain Name Idea Generator

Find a business domain name in minutes, with ideas matched to your industry and the country you sell in.

Picking a domain is hard. The obvious names are usually taken, and it’s not always clear whether you need a .com, a .co.nz or something like .io.

This free tool turns a few keywords about your business into dozens of name ideas, paired with the extensions that suit your audience.

Save your favourites, see how each one would look as a real website address, and then check whether it’s available.

How to use it

1. Enter your keywords

Type 1–3 words that describe your business, such as “coffee roast” or “solar energy”.

2. Choose who you’re selling to

  • Global Audience if you sell worldwide
  • Local / Regional if your customers are mostly in one country. Pick the country, for example New Zealand, Australia or the UK, and the tool suggests trusted local extensions like .co.nz, .com.au or .co.uk.

3. Pick your industry

  • The tool adds extensions that fit your field, such as .ai and .io for software, .shop for retail, .studio for creative work or .health for wellness.

4. Choose your extensions (TLD)

  • The recommended extensions are ticked for you. Click any of them to add or remove it, or use Select All. Click Recommended to go back to the suggested set.

5. Fine-tune (optional)

  • Open Length & Phonetic Preferences to set a maximum name length. Shorter names are easier to remember.

6. Click Generate

  • You’ll get a grid of domain ideas. Use the tabs to show only short names or only .com.

7. Shortlist and preview

  • Click ⭐ to save a name to your shortlist.
  • Click any card to see it in a mock browser bar and homepage.
  • Click Copy to grab a single name, or Copy All Saved to copy your whole shortlist.

8. Check availability

  • Click Buy or Check on Namecheap / Hostinger to see whether the name is free and register it.

Quick tips

  • Say it out loud. If someone can’t spell it after hearing it, keep looking.
  • Local or global? Local extensions like .co.nz build trust at home. For international audiences, .com is still the standard.
  • Check before you buy. Search trademarks and social media handles for your top picks.

Note: The Namecheap and Hostinger links are affiliate links, meaning we will get a small commission if you purchase a domain via these links. No cost to you.
